My weight loss plan is simple. I’m not following gimmicks. You won’t see the Atkin’s Diet, the 17 Day Diet, or anything else like that here. I’m following a diet of anywhere from 1200-1500 calories per day, the minimum recommended for someone my height/weight to produce weight loss.
I’m going to eat whatever I want, whenever I want, because I don’t do well with deprivation. If I eat something “bad” for me, I will work it off with extra exercise, and I will keep my portion sizes small.
I’m tracking my food intake at MyFitnessPal, and I encourage you all to follow me there as well, if you’re on the same journey as I am. I’m LWatrous. It will increase accountability, for sure. I’ll also be tracking my exercise and water intake there, as well.
Instead of soda, energy drinks and energy shots, I will be drinking unsweetened loose leaf coconut oolong and Earl Gray tea in the mornings. I’m allowing myself only water and skim milk throughout the day–and caffeine intake will cease at noon!
As far as exercise goes, I’ll be using any combination of the following Wii Games:
- Just Dance 2
- Just Dance 3
- Just Dance Summer Party
- Wii Fit Plus
- EA Sports Active
to make sure I burn at least 250 calories a day. I’ll track my progress here as well.
I’m weighing in once a week, on Thursdays, first thing in the morning, using my Wii Fit and the Wii Fit Plus game. Until I get a tape measure, I will not be posting any measurements. I’m also going to track my Wii Fit age, and use the games there to improve my balance. This metric really means nothing, but will be fun to watch improve. (The first time I used it, I was 80! When I was at my “fittest” recently–more than a year ago–I was 20. I don’t think I’ll ever get it under that!)
In the beginning, I’ll only be taking a multi-vitamin, probiotics, and a fiber supplement. When the supplement manufactured by the company I work for is ready for market, I will be taking it, too. (More about that later.) This will help me see how much the supplement helps (or doesn’t help) my progress.
